Spiderman drives standard

I learned how to drive standard after work today. Well, I learned first and second gear, how to start and stop and coast. Next up...reverse and gears 3 thru 5, and going over 45kph. A guy from work was teaching me, all patient like on his own car. I only stalled it like 10 times, and hopped and jolted too.

In less exciting news...greeting me on my door after work...2 huge spiders. So I remained calm, unlocked the front door, grabbed the can of Raid and stood outside spraying the crap out of the arachnids for about 20 minutes. Suffice it to say, they are now dead. And lying outside in their deadness as a lesson to other spiders.

SMRT

I'm SMRT. I could not figure out how to open the fuel tank on my co-op Smart Car tonight. So I asked some guy at the gas station. Then I found the laminated instruction sheet under the driver's seat. The fuel tank is on the passenger side, not the driver's side.

Epic Fail

In the course of my work and getting 'all the checks in the boxes' that I need for the next step of my career I have to finish 3 types of courses...general officer courses, air force officer courses, and air force transportation officer courses. My goal is to have all the courses done by next December, so that I can really focus on learning the job I'm expecting to get posted to next summer.

Two of the three types of courses are going pretty well, the third though, whooo-eee, it's a doozy. I don't think I've ever failed a test in my life, in school, university or any other work test, but damn if I haven't failed two of my AFOD (air force officer courses) tests. It's starting to get really annoying.

I'm hoping to have two more AFOD tests passed before my parents come and visit after Labour Day weekend. Since I have to wait a week after failing a test before I can rewrite it, I guess I'd better get crack-a-lackin' so I have time to write each test twice.

Oh, the joys of failure.

Working Out

I've been working out in my home the last few days. Just weights and stuff while I watch TV. I've been thinking of buying the P90X workout program and giving it a go. I read a review that said the guy learned to love doing push-ups and could do tons. I need that.

Underpants

I really want A/C in this stupid environmentally friendly apartment of mine. I went for a walk this afternoon to go shopping downtown. As soon as I stepped out of my house I was dripping in sweat, in fact, it was pooling in my elbow when my arm was bent to talk on the phone. Gross. Especially since I was trying on clothes.

I have spent the rest of the day sitting in front my fan in my underpants to try to get over this 32C heat. That's right folks, my underpants and that is all.
